Can mining, agriculture, and fishing coexist in the rural area of ​​Arequipa?

Protesters against the Tía María mining project on Islay have mobilized under the banner of “agro yes, mine no”, suggesting that mining and agriculture are incompatible. In fact, today more than ever there are numerous cases of conflict between mining companies and peasant communities in Peru and around the world.
