ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS, AND THE PERUVIAN STATE CONTROL AND SANCTION PROCESSES: CASE OF THE OIL SPILL IN VENTANILLA AND SIMILARITIES WITH THE POLLUTION OF MINING TAILINGS
The oil spill that occurred on the beaches of Bahía Blanca and Costa Azul (Ventanilla) in the multi-buoy terminal No. 2 of the La Pampilla S.A.A. refinery, of the multinational Repsol YPF S.A, raises questions about the degree of environmental impact on the sea and the species that inhabit this area and the effect on the artisanal fishing activities that are carried out in the area. This accident is added to similar events in different parts of the world in recent years. March 2022.
